Hey, Hot Shot! debuts ten new talented photographers to the public four times a year with dedicated shows at jen bekman. In January of each year, the annual Hey, Hot Shot! ne plus ultra exhibition features three photographers selected from the previous year’s finalists. The photographers featured in the annual show are represented by jen bekman in the year to come and are considered for a solo exhibition for the gallery.

The 2006 Hey, Hot Shot! Panel includes Caterina Fake, co-founder of the ubiquitous online photo site Flickr , Michael Bierut, prinicpal at Pentagram, Stephen Frailey, School of Visual Arts Photography Department Chair, Jenni Holder , former director of Edwynn Houk gallery, jen bekman photographer and educator Benjamin Donaldson, Julia Leach, EVP Creative Direction & Brand Strategy of kate spade, photographer Jay Maisel, and Eliot Shepard, a photographer represented by jen bekman and the force behind slower.net.

Our most recent showcase was a shortlist pick in The Village Voice and received mentions in Gothamist, Flavorpill, Manhattan Users’ Guide and The L Magazine. MetroNY also ran an article featuring photographs of the showcase. The competition and its artists have also been featured in Photo District News (PDN), Daily Candy and Harpers Magazine.
